Meet our Chapter

An introduction to our chapter, members, and events.

The Maria Mitchell Chapter, NSDAR, was founded 5 years ago by Organizing Regent Michelle Reynolds, as a way to facilitate service activities. We prioritize building our community in addition to our service work. Our chapter is composed of dynamic women, many of whom are professionals in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Our chapter strives to provide a community for those who may not have found one readily available in their daily lives.

Founding members commemorated the organizing of the chapter with mini telescopes. A telescope was selected to honor Maria Mitchell, the first female astronomer.
