First thing is first. The Vice regent must…

The main duty of the Vice Regent is to study and know the Regent role. Particularly the duties of presiding at a chapter meeting, or representing the chapter at state conference or continental congress. Please see the Regent’s page to learn her duties.
Because the Vice Regent is most likely to take on the Regent’ role in the form of presiding over a meeting it should be a priority to become familiar with Robert’s rules of Order.

It recommended that in addition to having the rules of order hardcover on hand at all times. Other resources such as, parliamentary law chart available for purchase on the DAR site for 10 cents, wikipedia is also useful, and amazon has a kindle version available for purchase.
In many chapters, it is specified in the bylaws that the vice regent is also chairman of yearbook committee, and the program committee. Our bylaws are set up for a separate program committee and do not specifically account for a yearbook committee.
Because it is not specifically accounted for, it means the corresponding secretary is responsible for completion and submission of the yearbook (as per state instruction) and the vice regent is responsible for providing instruction for the yearbook, and historical yearbooks (as per national instruction).
